Nazira is a trained physician, seasoned life sciences adviser and experienced biopharmaceutical executive. She founded BeeSpoke Strategy in 2018 driven by a strong desire to leverage her medical and commercial expertise to partner with executive teams at emerging biotech and techbio companies that are scaling or at critical inflection points. Nazira is passionate about working with CEOs and their teams on articulating the value of their science/technology whilst also helping them focus on longer term strategic and operational considerations pivotal to ‘growing great companies’.
Prior to founding BeeSpoke Strategy, Nazira was the VP Global Commercial Strategy at Exscientia and at Intercept Pharmaceuticals where she led NASH commercialization for the company’s lead asset. Before her foray into biotech, Nazira spent 14 years at Sanofi where she held numerous senior leadership positions leading global product franchises as well as regional operations.
Nazira holds a BsC in Biology with Honors and an MD from McGill University, an MBA from INSEAD and is a trained CTI coach.
In addition to her professional activities at BeeSpoke Strategy, Nazira is a non-executive director in the charity, education and for profit sectors. Her current appointments include Arkvax, an animal health vaccine company, Vertical Future, an AgTech company, GraphTx, an AI precision medicine company, LSHTM, one of the world’s leading public health universities and I am Heshima, an educational charity based in Kenya. She also offers mentorship to young people starting their careers in life sciences.
Part of the journey of scaling a biotech for a CEO and their management team involves not only being experts in the science or tech and articulating the value of that asset/tech to an investor or future partner but also developing a future-proof blueprint for the company which will chart out the key financial and human resources critical to getting to the next inflection point and eventually to an exit.
